Social Media

I dont know what I would do if social media just disappeared. Facebook and Twitter seems like thats what every college student is on and its a priority to some people. I have friends that cant go ten minutes without tweeting something on twitter or posting a status on facebook. If that happened and social media disappeared, we would have to go back to having regular conversations with people, mailing letters, reading newspapers, and reading books. The things that we dont do as much now like writing letters, and reading papers is because were so caught up into the internet and social media. I did pretty good this month on not getting on Facebook as much just strictly twitter, but Facebook has more to offer so whenever I have free time I still go back and check my page. I feel like right now in 2011 with our generation, social media cant go anywhere anytime soon because that would be horrible to start over like the old days and we would be lost!

Seize the day

I have seized the day by going to my classes, learning, and brightening my future so that when I graduate I can become successful. I think that most of my peers are in school for the same reason its just a matter of how much people will work, to get where they want to be. I have never used this quote before so the whole “seize the day” thing was new to me. I feel like there will always be things that pop up in life; great internships, a nice vacation, study abroad. Some of these may be life lessons, and others may be opportunities that you must take in order to learn from. With the quote “seize the day” it’s making sure you enjoy every moment and not regretting things later.

What would my committee bring to town?

If I were a committee asking a company to come to town I would ask more clothing stores like forever 21, and Know Style. So many students come to Georgia Southern for the ultimate college experience being new school, new group of friends, and new surroundings. Once students arrive and realize we don’t even have a real mall it becomes a problem. I know for some of my friends, they have to drive to Savannah just to get a new outfit and that is doing too much. If these stores were open in Statesboro it would eliminate the hassle of driving 45 minutes to shop, so that would make it more convenient. These businesses would make great profit because their product attracts all women and all ages. It can also help with providing jobs to students who attend GSU because it’s hard to come across a job in Statesboro. I feel like with the addition of these two stores, it can only make Statesboro better.
